Hey friends! First I just wanted to say, thanks for supporting us Telfers. All of us know we would not be here today without you!

Well, since we have this nice little page here, I thought long and hard what I wanted to do with it. What is it I love the most …… Music! I can’t imagine a world with out it! Growing up as a child, I was so lucky to have such a musical family who love to get together on the weekends. Living out in the country it can be a little boring at times – so why not take a bunch of talented musicians, put them under one roof and see what you come up with? Hours can pass and it feels like just a few minutes.

Going to church as a child on Sundays, for some reason the drummer caught my eye. Mom and Dad had let me whack away for a year on pots and pains. On my 4th birthday they finally accepted that I was going to be a drummer – I got my first big surprise that I will never forget, A big, red, sparkling, drum kit!

Some people ask “What does music do for you?” Well, for me it takes me away from the real world. I can escape from the worst day ever simply by putting a set of head phones on, and putting on a tune. I know it will stick with me for the rest of the day.

So after all that lets get back to what it is I want to share with you, Music!! When you spend as much time as we do on the road you meet a lot of great Canadian bands. I think it’s important for musicians to support each other, so every month I’m going to put up some local music I enjoy!

Here is the first artist I would like to share with you: Garrett Mason. For me his album was the record of 09 and this guy is right under our noses! He is the real deal with one of the best rhythm sections in Halifax! Check out his MySpace – and particularly check out his tune “And Everything”.
